Protein optimization: TAPE
TAPE: Targeted Accelerated Protein Evolution
TAPE is the building block:
- Of a renewal strategy for biodrugs getting off patent
- Of a discovery program to select new leads with better targets kinetics
- Of a molecule optimization process to derive new monoclonal antibody clones with improved epitope affinity.
The proof of concept of TAPE as a tool to optimize monoclonal antibodies was recently achieved in collaboration with a specialized international partner : the company BAC-BV located in the Netherlands. Part of this work has been published by Bac-BV at the Fortesio Workshop in Hanover, on October 14, 2011 (slides 11 and 12). Click on the link to download the presentation.
Today, starting from a characterized gene, we offer to provide large DNA banks, encoding for analogues of proteins, enzymes or antibodies from a given known target. Variant DNA sequences code for a high diversity analogue collection with preserved conserved domains and mutated variable regions.
The offer can be limited to the development of large variant DNA banks or go all the way to the selection of the best bio analogues tested for efficacy on a given target, in comparison to the genuine molecule.
The offer may include a non-exclusive patent licence of TAPE technology for in house testing.
